The People With AIDS Coalition of Utah is dedicated to providing educational and support services that enhance the quality of life for all people impacted by HIV / AIDS.

PWACU was established in 1988, since then we have become an integral part of Utah’s HIV/AIDS community by providing several unique services throughout Utah.

Education

We publish the Positive Press, a community newsletter about HIV/AIDS.  The Positive Press contains a variety of articles that explore issues such as new medical treatments, client services and general information about the Utah HIV/AIDS community.  It also includes articles by people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and news about upcoming community events.  The Positive Press is free of charge and is available online.

Our
Resource Library contains a selection of books, journals, DVD’s, and articles covering different aspects of HIV/AIDS.  Our library is open to the community and includes free Internet access.

As part of PWACU’s educational efforts, we provide Seminars.  The Seminars offer people affected by HIV/AIDS a chance to learn about pertinent issues and talk with others impacted by the disease.

Our Speakers Bureau is designed to provide education about HIV/AIDS to the community at large.  Presentations are available for schools, detention centers, businesses and community organizations.  Educational presentations can take a number of different forms, and can be customized for your group.  We can focus on HIV prevention, treatment and care, awareness and compassion or anything else you would like.

Groups

We provide various social and support groups for people living with HIV/AIDS.  Please click here for details.

Recreation

Our Recreation Program strives to offer people living with HIV/AIDS the opportunity to create social support networks in a positive and safe environment.  Our program provides access to cultural and community events that people affected by HIV/AIDS may not otherwise be able to attend.  We also provide several events such as barbeques, holiday parties and a river trip each year.

Thrift Store

We provide vouchers for PWA’s to shop in Our Store www.YourThriftAlternative.org.
