The People With
AIDS Coalition of Utah is dedicated to providing educational and support
services that enhance the quality of life for all people impacted by HIV /
AIDS.
The annual Living With AIDS Conference is held
in October (AIDS Awareness Month). The
Conference covers an array of subjects for a variety of persons; including
providers, people living with HIV/AIDS, friends and family members. The topics presented include relevant
concerns ranging from new medical and holistic advances in HIV/AIDS treatment
to spiritual and emotional issues. In
addition to its educational role, the Conference offers a supportive and open
environment in which those whose lives are affected by the disease can interact
with others who are facing similar issues.
We facilitate various social and
support groups for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Please visit our web site www.PWACU.org or call us at 801-484-2205
for a complete listing.
Our Recreation Program strives to
offer people living with HIV/AIDS the opportunity to create social support
networks in a positive and safe environment.
Our program provides access to cultural and community events that people
affected by HIV/AIDS may not otherwise be able to attend. We also sponsor several events such as
barbeques, holiday parties and a river trip each year. Membership in the program is confidential.
Our thrift room is stocked with donations from the community and is
available to our members during business hours.
Our wellness program provides
people living with HIV access to providers willing to volunteer their services in
the areas of acupressure, chiropractic, massage therapy, meditation,
reflexology, reiki, yoga and other services. |
